Aero Expo 2009 Ikaros Airport

HELLAS FEST, which is highly experienced in the organisation of international exhibitions, is delighted to invite you to participate in the 2009 INTERNATIONAL GENERAL AVIATION EXHIBITION which will take place from 18 to 20 September at the “IKAROS GENERAL AVIATION AIRPORT” in GREECE within the scope of the first International Competition of Aeronautical Demonstrations and Skydiving, under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organisation and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The airport at which the 2009 INTERNATIONAL AERONAUTICAL EXHIBITION will take place is located 55 minutes away from capital city Athens and 20 to 60 minutes away from major regional towns such as LAMIA, LIVADIA, THIVA and CHALKIDA, with easy access from the Athens-LAMIA highway .

There will be a 20,000 sq. m outdoor area for the stationary exhibition of airplanes and helicopters, of which 4,000 sq. m is covered. The exhibition also includes an area for the parking of airplanes and helicopters of visitors to the exhibition, space for the parking of airplanes which will carry out training flights for the public, a pilot's welcome and registration desk, travel services for visitors and exhibition participants, a café-restaurant and a large parking for visitors and exhibition participants, all of which will ensure the smooth and flawless organisation of the exhibition.

Within a Greek market which is expanding on a daily basis, the number of people who are involved in general aviation, the familiarisation of new active customers through Aeronautical Exhibitions, as well as the continually increasing interest of foreign aeronautical companies in the Greek market are all elements which must positively influence your final decision on your participation in this exhibition. Let's not forget that Greece is at the crossroads between the East and West and between the expanded European Union and the Middle East.

The major national advertising campaign also including local television and radio stations, direct communication through aeronautical magazines, and electronic communication with those already involved in general aviation, aeronautical demonstrations by acrobatic airplane teams and skydiving are some of the elements that will guarantee a large number of visitors to the exhibition. No major religious holidays or major European aeronautical exhibitions coincide with the exhibition.

So apply for participation now by fax to 0030 210 2716664

Dear aviators,
Dear aero-athletes,
Ladies and gentlemen
,
General aviation is a huge global market. It is a market which consists of a very important support mechanism for tourism and therefore the economy in countries in which it is developed and mature. It is a market which is growing remarkably with geometric progression annually throughout the world and of course in Europe.

Greece is one of the southernmost borders of the European Union and must provide the aviation infrastructure for the development of general aviation as well as hosting and hospitality for aero tourists, since our climate is generally accepted as making it the most attractive aviation destination in all of Europe.

Your efforts over the last few years in the aviation field in Greece has resulted in the creation of “IKAROS Airport” the first airport in Greece exclusively dedicated to general aviation with a Commercial Public Use Licence in accordance to global aviation standards for the construction of airports, with a significant number of visitors from abroad every year.

In recognition of this work for general aviation and of the support it provides to our tourism, I salute the realisation of the International Aeronautical Exhibition at "Ikaros", the first private Airport of the General Aviation in Greece, by supporting and sponsoring the event.

Also, I am inviting all those from Greece and all of Europe involved in general aviation to meet at the exhibition for many new aeronautical experiences.
